The Calaveras County Office of Education ("CCOE") partners with our four local school districts and the community to provide quality education to our county's 5,270 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades. We manage alternative education programs for students at Calaveras River Academy, Mountain Oaks Charter School (an Independent Study program), and Oakendell Community School. We also offer adult education services, and a variety of special education services as the Responsible Local Agency ("RLA") for the Special Education Local Plan Area ("SELPA"); including, five special education preschool programs and a program for transition-aged young adults (ages 18-22).

Job Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician supports the implementation of procedures based on the principles of behavior analysis. The Behavior Technician supports site school staff with the implementation and skill acquisition for behavior reduction plans, with ongoing data collection under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Requirements / Qualifications

Certificate Copy (Pro-Act certification (desired))

Certification (Valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Credential)

Copy of Transcript (Verifying 48 Semester Units/or Degree (if applicable)) OR Test Results/Materials (NCLB Certificate: If needed, please contact or to schedule to take the next NCLB/Paraprofessional test)

CPR/First Aid Certification ( First Aid and CPR certification (desired))

Letter of Introduction

Letter(s) of Reference (Three Required; preferably from former employers or supervisors)

Other (Verification of six (6) months experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or with behavioral challenges (required for RBT))

All employment with the Calaveras County Office of Education is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements which includes but is not limited to fingerprinting and verification of negative tuberculosis.

CCOE employees on a 39 or 63-month reemployment list will have hiring preference over a non-CCOE employee.
