LotusWorks is seeking an experienced Mechanical QCX Engineer to support the quality assurance and quality control execution of large-scale, mission-critical projects. In this role, you will ensure all mechanical systems-including HVAC, boilers, chillers, air handlers, cooling towers, and process piping-are installed, tested, and commissioned in compliance with client specifications, ASME/AWS standards, and local codes.

You'll work closely with project engineers, construction teams, and client representatives to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Create and maintain the project-specific Mechanical QA/QC Plan in accordance with client specifications, ASME, AWS, and local regulations.

Ensure consistent implementation of quality procedures across all mechanical activities.

Prepare, implement, and update Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for welding, piping, and mechanical systems.

Define inspection hold points and ensure adequate coverage at all stages of construction.

Review P&IDs, isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and material submittals for compliance prior to construction.

Verify material certificates, traceability, and documentation against approved submittals and project requirements.Inspect welding activities to confirm compliance with WPS/PQR and welder qualifications.

Oversee fit-up, welding, and installation of process and utility piping systems (stainless steel, carbon steel, high-purity, orbital welded).

Coordinate and review NDE inspections (RT, UT, PT) and ensure proper documentation of results.

Supervise hydrostatic, pneumatic, and helium leak testing of piping systems.

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to confirm mechanical installation quality.

Validate system readiness and support pre-commissioning inspections.

Ensure correct handling, storage, and preservation of mechanical and piping materials.

Maintain control of inspection tools and ensure calibration and certification compliance.

Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, and test records.

Track and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Compile turnover dossiers and quality packages for client handover.

Support commissioning teams by validating pre-functional checklists and reviewing redline drawings.

Assist in preparing O&M manuals, as-built documentation, and lessons-learned reports.

Deliver toolbox talks and training sessions on welding and piping quality standards.

Participate in quality meetings, internal/external audits, and progress reviews.

Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. Skills Required:

Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in mechanical systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers, air handlers, cooling towers).

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) - required.

Strong working knowledge of ASME, AWS, and local mechanical codes.

Experience developing and implementing QA/QC plans, ITPs, and inspection documentation.

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and fabrication drawings.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Candidates with slightly less experience may be considered based on certification and technical competency. Education / Licenses / Certifications:

CWI Certification required

Mechanical Engineering Degree Preferred
