Pocahontas County Schools Assistant Basketball Coach (Boys)

Assignment : Pocahontas County High School

Applicant must hold a high school diploma or GED, experience is preferred, not mandatory, and hold WVSSAC Coaching Certification.

Punctual, dependable and capable of assisting additional Coach

Cooperates with building Principal and Athletic Director

Attends all WVSSAC, county, and conference meetings/trainings

Follows the league, conference, county and WVSSAC policies

Completes annual WVSSAC courses as directed by the Athletic Director

Helps to design pre-season planning, helps to manage budget/funds appropriately and follows end-of-season procedures.

Obtains certifications (First Aid, CPR, and AED) and capable of handling athletic injuries

Obtains a copy of the Emergency Action Plan(EAP) and collaborates with Athletic Director to practice said plan as required by the WVSSAC

Works collaboratively with other coaches, school nurse and athletic director

Develops positive relationships with participants, studen body, faculty, parents, community, officials news media, and opponents - promoting teamwork and good sportsmanship ** It is the responsibility of the applicant to fully understand the job duties, responsibilities, and requirements prior to accepting a position.

Term of employment: 2025-2026 Athletic Season

Salary: $1,100.00 for the 2025-2026 athletic season.

** Payment will be released after completion of the annual evaluations by Athletic Director.
