The Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Campaigns, is accountable for business growth along campaign lines in the Defence market. The role has a responsibility for harnessing growth and working to deliver against opportunities in collaboration with the Senior Director Strategy, Senior Director S&I, Director Growth and Campaigns and Operational Unit Directors.
Program Delivery. The role requires leadership of people, external (customer and industry partners) engagement and programs in accordance with business policies, commercial necessities, quality, and technical assurance requirements. In delivering these outcomes, The Senior Manager Campaigns will be supported by the ADSS enabling functions and business partners.
Business Growth. In line with the ADSS Business Strategy, The Senior Manager Campaigns will develop, implement and deliver campaign plans across key vectors for the ADSS business. They will strengthen our relationships with senior customers (including executive government officials and equivalent in private sector), lead external engagement to develop new customers, undertake market assessment to identify new revenue streams and work with the ADSS team to capture key opportunities. Where relevant, The Senior Manager Campaigns will also seek to integrate global KBR technology and solutions into our offering to the customer.
The position reports to the Director, Growth and Campaigns and will work closely with other members of the Growth team and enabling functions including communications, commercial, finance, people & culture, engineering, the program management office, and the operating units, to delivery against our growth targets.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
Accountable for identifying, scheduling, planning and winning major capability and upgrade projects in the Defence market aligned to the ADSS strategy.
Develop and implement Campaign Plans in alignment with the strategic growth vectors articulated by the business and in support of operational unit growth.
Work closely with the management team to ensure all operational, administrative, quality, governance and compliance functions within the business are properly executed and met.
Engage senior customers to strengthen relationships. Strong customer relationships are critical to ensure business continuity and address issues before they arise.
Develop effective relationships and execute collaborative engagement with industry partners to win and deliver the program of works.
Act as a role model within the business demonstrating commercial acumen and emotional intelligence in execution of duties.
When relevant leverage global KBR technology and solutions into programs.
Undertake duties, from time to time, as required under delegation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
Tertiary qualifications in a technical field, business, marketing, or another Defence-relevant domain.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a Defence business focussed on growth functions such as strategy, business development, or capture.
Deep understanding of the Australian Defence acquisition and capability lifecycles.
Proven ability to think strategically and develop business plans, growth strategies, and identifying and grow new markets.
Proven ability to lead and develop teams in delivering programs, develop commercial solutions, manage risk and accountable for financial outcomes.
Exceptional networking skills with proven experience engaging with customers, industry partners and academia experts.
Outstanding communication skills and demonstrable experience presenting business case, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams, partners and customers.
Refined business development, delivery, financial and commercial acumen to help win and deliver major contract awards.
Application of critical thinking techniques to evaluate opportunities, assess risks, and make informed choices as part of daily operations.
Hold an Australian Government security clearance or demonstrate an ability to be granted one.
Desirable:
MBA or other post graduate study in a related field.
P&L or program/project management experience
