Key Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers for raw materials and components.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve cost savings.

Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate material procurement.

Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery to maintain supply chain efficiency.

Collaborate with production planning to ensure optimal inventory levels and prevent stockouts.

Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and continuous improvement.

Resolve issues related to supplier performance, discrepancies, or material quality.

Recommended Qualifications

2-5 years of direct purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for purchase order processing and inventory management.

Demonstrated strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.

Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and Bills of Material (BOMs).

Ability to analyze market trends, supplier performance data, and cost breakdowns.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with specific ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor)

Certification or experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

Experience in global sourcing and international logistics

Demonstrated success in supplier development or strategic cost reduction initiatives
