As the largest Mental Health service in the country, we have the responsibility for the provision of Mental Health services across the largest population in New Zealand, over 650,000 people, along with addiction services for the greater Auckland metropolitan area and Forensic services for the northern region. This role therefore has the opportunity, in partnership with senior clinical staff, to make a difference to the lives of many people.
As General Manager, you will work closely with the Director for Specialist Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Clinical Director of the Regional Forensic Psychiatry Service and the Heads of Nursing for Mental Health. Jointly you will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Mental Health Services Group. Being part of a rapidly evolving and growing organisation, you will use your skills and experience to contribute to the strategic and operational development of the service along with enhancing its contribution to the District’s goals.
Critical to success in the role will be your enthusiasm, drive and proven ability to lead and develop sustainable services within budget, as well as your track record of leadership of a dedicated team of mental health professionals.
You are also expected to bring:
Proven experience in:
development and implementation of strategy
business planning aligned to organisational objectives
management of physical and financial resources
Extensive knowledge of large, complex organisations, ideally within mental health services
