Assistant Manager Trainee Position
Join our team as an Assistant Manager Trainee, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring every guest has an extraordinary experience. Your leadership will guide store staff in merchandising, pricing, and keeping the store clean and organized. When the Store Manager is unavailable, you'll step into their shoes, taking on a variety of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a warm, friendly atmosphere—greet guests and encourage your team to do the same.
Oversee True North Ready duties to ensure compliance with standards during all shifts.
Stay informed about monthly promotions and merchandise, effectively communicating these updates to staff.
Receive and verify vendor deliveries to ensure inventory accuracy.
Address compliance issues with staff, documenting concerns and collaborating with the Store Manager as needed.
Assist in recruiting and training new team members, fostering their development.
Handle guest complaints effectively and escalate to the Store Manager when necessary.
Audit shift reports for accuracy, making corrections and providing training as required.
Conduct competitor price surveys and implement necessary price changes.
Generate daily reports, reconcile shift sheets, and prepare bank deposits.
Perform seasonal responsibilities, including snow removal and maintenance of store aesthetics.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Proven ability to supervise and inspire a team.
Proficient with EPOS systems for processing transactions and generating reports.
Strong communication skills for interaction with team and guests.
Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
Capable of reading, counting, and writing for operational management.
Responsible for handling bank deposits securely.
Willingness to access all areas of the store including coolers and stock areas.
Able to work in cold conditions for extended periods while stocking and cleaning.
Physically able to handle merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
Available to stand for long periods, up to 8 hours.
Flexible schedule required, mainly opposite the Store Manager's shifts, including first, second, and occasionally third shifts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License is a must.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Access to a vehicle for banking activities.
Prior experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
