Avanciers is seeking a highly skilled Senior Microservice Developer to join our team for an exciting Fulltime role with one of our esteemed Fortune 500 clients, based in Canada. This is a Hybrid role.

Position: Senior Microservice Developer

Location: Toronto, ON - Hybrid

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

Design and implement moderately complex features and enhancements for enterprise applications.

Develop high-quality code aligned with the defined architecture, design principles, coding standards, and best practices.

Actively participate and lead technical discussions, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning, meetings, and demos.

Adhere to established development processes, including version control, JIRA task updates, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and other project-specific practices.

Perform thorough unit testing on all developed components prior to review and QA submission.

Collaborate with the Architect for code reviews and incorporate feedback to ensure quality and consistency.

Support the Architect in defining coding standards, best practices, technical designs, and overall application architecture.

Manage and deliver multiple modules or small-scale projects with accountability for timelines and quality.

Work effectively as a team player and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Provide technical guidance to team members, resolve issues, and progressively take ownership of mentoring and leading a small team of 5–7 developers, demonstrating strong conflict resolution skills.

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, and related technologies.

Proficiency in Spring Boot and Microservices Architecture (MSA) .

Experience working with PostgreSQL and exposure to BigQuery .

Knowledge of Agile methodologies with practical experience using JIRA and Git for code management.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Exposure to Microservice architecture, GCP, and GKE environments.

Familiarity with APIGEE for API management.

Preferred: Experience with ETL processes and strong understanding of Design Patterns .
