American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Oncology position with EPIC and telemetry experience required.
Job Details
• Work in a Med/Surg Tele Oncology unit caring for patients with cancer and comorbidities,
• Patient population includes those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy, and symptom management,
• Staff to patient ratio is 1:4,
• Utilizes B450 monitors and GE telemetry systems, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, and bladder scanners,
• Day and night shifts available (3x12 hour shifts: 7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30),
• Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity is required,
• EMR used is Epic; Epic experience required,
Job Requirements
• Active OH or compact RN license in hand,
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required,
• BCLS certification required,
• Experience with Epic EMR required,
• Strong skills in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, port access, and arterial line management,
• Experience with blood product administration, central and PICC line care, IV starts, chest tube assistance, and high flow nasal cannula preferred,
• Ability to interpret ABGs required,
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program,
• Two professional references required; at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role,
• Previous travel experience preferred,
Additional Information
• Main responsibilities include oncology patient care, telemetry monitoring, and managing complex comorbidities,
• Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention,
• Assignment length is 13 weeks,
• Must be responsive to credentialing and meet strict fingerprinting deadlines for Ohio,
• First-time travelers will be considered,
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 6 months to be eligible,
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible,
• Locals are accepted at the same rate,
