American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with adult oncology patients and rotating day/night shifts.
Job Details
• Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Tele oncology unit,
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various solid tumor cancers,
• Common cases involve breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as patients undergoing antineoplastic chemotherapy,
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:4, may be up to 1:5,
• Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units,
• Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts, with scheduling based on department needs,
• Self-scheduling requests allowed and considered prior to final schedule approval,
• EPIC EMR used for computerized charting,
Job Requirements
• Active OH or compact RN license in hand,
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience,
• Current BLS certification required,
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and monitoring required,
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred,
• Oncology experience preferred but not required,
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required,
• Two professional references required, one must be from a supervisor or formal leadership role,
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process required promptly after booking,

• Care for adult and geriatric oncology patients across the spectrum of cancer diagnoses and treatments,
• Infection prevention and patient fall protocols are emphasized,
• First week orientation is Monday to Friday dayshift, followed by 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor,
• May be assigned days, nights, or rotating shifts based on staffing priorities,
• Locals are accepted at the same rate,
• Time off requests must be built into the contract,
• Former employees may be eligible if away from the facility for at least 6 months,
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospitals are not eligible for this travel assignment,
