Job Description

Well established leader in Mobile Wound Care is searching for their next Director of Education. The Director of Education provides strategic leadership in designing, delivering, and evaluating educational initiatives that advance the company's mission of clinical excellence. This role oversees orientation and onboarding programs, develops new clinical and operational training content, manages accreditation processes for wound care certifications (WOCN, CWS, and other credentialing bodies), and collaborates with all internal departments to create resources that support staff development and organizational growth. The Director ensures educational offerings are evidence-based, compliant with accrediting standards, and aligned with company goals for quality, patient outcomes, and market leadership. *Note: This role will require monthly to the Home Office in Oklahoma City to conduct staff training.

Key Responsibilities

Orientation & Onboarding

· Design and deliver engaging onboarding programs for new clinical and non-clinical staff.

· Ensure orientation content reflects current evidence-based wound care practices and organizational policies.

· Collaborate with department leaders to customize onboarding for role-specific needs.

Curriculum & Content Development

· Create, update, and maintain educational content for clinical staff, support teams, and leadership.

· Develop training materials, manuals, and digital resources to enhance staff competencies.

· Align educational content with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and best practices in wound care.

Accreditation & Certification Management

· Manage accreditation processes for wound care education programs (e.g., WOCN, CWS).

· Ensure compliance with national standards for continuing education and credentialing.

· Maintain accurate documentation and reports required by accrediting bodies.

· Develop strategies to expand access to certified wound care education within the company.

Cross-Departmental Support

· Partner with internal departments (clinical, quality, operations, marketing) to create education and training documents that strengthen workflows and compliance.

· Provide educational resources to support process improvement, customer service, and market development initiatives.

· Serve as an educational advisor to leadership on staff competency and training needs.

Innovation & Growth

· Identify opportunities to integrate advanced learning technologies (e-learning platforms, simulation, digital tools) into the company's education programs.

· Foster a culture of lifelong learning and professional development across the organization.

· Monitor trends in wound care education and recommend updates to curricula and training strategies.

Competencies

Instructional Leadership: Skilled in designing, delivering, and evaluating adult learning programs.

Clinical Expertise: Strong knowledge of wound care practices and certification requirements (WOCN, CWS).

Accreditation Knowledge: Proven ability to manage accreditation processes and ensure compliance.

Collaboration & Communication: Effective communicator with ability to partner across departments and external organizations.

Program Development: Strong skills in curriculum design, educational technology, and content creation.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

Licensed NP, PA, or other healthcare professional with advanced wound care expertise.

Wound care certification required/preferred (WOCN, WCC, CWCN, CWS, or equivalent).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical education, staff development, or program leadership.

Experience with accreditation processes and continuing education compliance.

Strong background in curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning theory.

Work Conditions

Work performed in office, remote, classroom, or clinical settings.

Travel required to deliver education across TWC markets and at professional events.

Standard work hours Monday–Friday, with flexibility for education sessions outside typical hours.

Frequent use of computers, digital platforms, and educational technology.

Success Measures

Effective onboarding programs resulting in strong new hire retention and competency development.

Accreditation for wound care education programs maintained in good standing.

High satisfaction ratings from staff for training content and delivery.
