12/02/2025 at 4:00 PMThe Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for the position of Permanent Substitute School Counselor at Mt. Lebanon High School for the 2nd Semester of the 2025-2026 school year.

This is a full-time, on-site, single semester, temporary (substitute) assignment from January 16, 2026 through June 8, 2026, a 95 day assignment.

In order to be eligible to apply, the candidate must hold an active Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in School Counseling that is inclusive of grades 9-12, or equivalent authorization in the form of a college/university placeholder letter stating completion of a PDE approved teacher preparation program and evidence of passing scores on certification examinations, while certification is pending through PDE.

A permanent substitute assignment is a long term substitute assignment of a full semester or more. This position will be eligible for degree level daily rate for step 1 of the teachers salary schedule, with rates starting at $289 per day depending upon credential. The position is also eligible for paid time off in the form of sick and personal days and individual health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.

In order to be eligible for employment in Pennsylvania public schools, the following clearances, trainings, and forms are required by the District at the time of hire:

Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)

Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)

FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)

Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting (Act 126)

Arrest or Conviction Form PDE 6004 (Act 24)

School Personnel Health Record & TB Test

Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
