Job Summary:

The Patient Admissions Representative is responsible for various operational support and data entry functions, specific to the Patient Admission Services (PAS) Department. This position will be responsible for the registration/admission of patients who present themselves for services and for the primary operation of the hospital communication center and monitoring of hospital emergency response systems located at the Switchboard. This includes but is not limited to scheduling, pre-admission and admission of patients; obtaining required signatures on hospital forms; explaining hospital forms and procedures/services available during admission to the hospital; routine cashiering functions. The Patient Admissions Representative will direct patients to the proper area for treatment, answer telephones, distribute paperwork as appropriate and perform statistical reports when applicable. The Patient Admissions Representative may perform other clerical and varied duties that are necessary for the needs of the department and/or organization.

Minimum Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.

Computer and data entry skills required.

Customer Service Experience required.

Admissions, physician office, switchboard and/or accounting/cashiering experience are preferred.
