Nurse Manager - Beach Grove Home
The Long-Term Care Manager is responsible to lead and direct nursing services and staff for the purpose of ensuring the delivery of safe, quality, person-centered care to residents. The incumbent provides leadership, management, and direct support in the supervision of staff.
Duties include:
Ensures accountability for the delivery of nursing care and allied services by demonstrating and promoting leadership within the organization
Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as required
Provides creative and innovative leadership in developing programs and activities that promote quality of life for residents
Fosters professional development and ensures that all staff work within their scope of practice and are accountable to residents, to their professional regulatory body, and to their colleagues
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and communication skills required to effectively address issues such as ethical and moral, and manage conflict resolution
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor of Nursing Degree
The successful applicant must be active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses and Midwives of Prince Edward Island.
Extensive clinical nursing experience and considerable experience at the management or supervisory level.
Experience and ability to work effectively with multiple health disciplines and all staff
Demonstrated leadership/management including budget management, risk management, strategic planning, policy and program development, and evaluation processes. Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered
Demonstrated teaching and leadership skills which includes effective communication skills and evidence of self-direction
Working knowledge of the health sector, collective agreements, performance management principles, employee/labor relations is required
An understanding of Health PEI’s mission, goals, and objectives
Computer and word processing skills
Good previous work and attendance record
Other Qualifications:
Experience working in long term care is an asset. Direct leadership experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset

Salary Range: $45.76 - $56.29 per hour (Level 20N - Excluded)
Bi-Weekly Hours: 75.0 Hours Bi-Weekly / Monday – Friday / Days
