Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school in Manokotak, AK is seeking a qualified Mental Health Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year on a contract basis.
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling services to students in grades K-12
Assess student mental health needs and develop appropriate intervention plans
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student well-being
Maintain accurate documentation of counseling sessions and progress
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and referral processes
Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Certification or licensure as a school counselor or mental health counselor
Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings preferred
Strong understanding of mental health issues impacting K-12 students
Excellent munication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to the munitys unique needs
