The successful candidate will develop and drive strategic initiatives to optimize division performance, set policies and make decisions guiding productivity, quality, and cost efficiency of plant operations.
ResponsibilitiesWork with the Executive Management Team on all strategic and tactical plans as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis and forecasting needsCoordinate proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales resultsPrepare, submit and track manufacturing and capital budgetsReview and approve cost control reports, cost estimates and facilities requirementsMonitor key competitor activities.
Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors' operations on salesIdentify and direct the development of both short and long-range strategic business plansAssure customer expectations are consistently satisfied, products and services always meet quality specifications and all resources are fully utilized to provide cost-effective solutionsMaintain/Improve on margins through effective monitoring of production throughputEnsure process is in place to develop and implement corrective actionsMonitor regulatory, legislative and the business environment, modifying and refining strategic account plan initiatives/opportunitiesEnsure that all processes in the area of concern are documented according to customer’s quality requirementsResponsible for the maintenance of an appropriate system of internal control for all assets, including physical, human resources and information, within the companyBe a hands-on and collaborative leader achieving production targets while maintaining safe operations and quality standardsCreate and build a high performing team that will support operations and meet customer expectationsMaintain positive, high performance environment that fosters customer satisfaction, enhanced morale and individual employee engagementFacilitate cross functional communications to improve internal efficiency and effectivenessIdentify and resolve resource and technological constraints as well and ensure that resources are appropriately identified and assignedEnsure employees at all levels support and work to achieve the company goals and reinforce the corporate cultureExceptional leadership skills with a strong ability to motivate and communicate with all staffFoster good working relationships with unionized employeesQualificationsBachelor’s degree, or equivalent, preferably in Business Management, or related disciplineMinimum of 10 years of experience in a Manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a management role with good business acumenKnowledge of capital budgets and staff planning/forecastingA proven track record in a manufacturing environment.Ability to work closely with all business functions using a “hands on” approach to managementAbility to interact effectively with customers, identify their key requirementsKnowledge of steel manufacturing, fabrication procedures, welding processes, machining applications and tooling, acceptable production rates, scheduling and manpower utilizationExperience working in a unionized shop environmentDemonstrated organizational, planning, communication and management development skillsDemonstrated technical, material and manufacturing skillsStrong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysesStrong analytical skills and experience in interpreting a strategic vision into an operational modelGood organizational skills with the ability to respond quickly to changing prioritiesWe thank all interested parties but only those selected will be contacted to move forward
