Float: Yes, to Med-Surg Oncology units
Ratios: Target 1:4, may flex to 1:5 based on unit need
Charting: Epic
Certifications: BLS required; ONS Chemo preferred
Experience: 2+ years MS/Tele (Oncology preferred, not required)
Compliance: Strict deadline – fingerprints MUST be done immediately after offer (no exceptions)
Position Overview
The 10 James Gynecology & Urology Oncology unit cares for adult and geriatric oncology patients diagnosed with cancers such as endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancer. The unit provides chemotherapy, brachytherapy, clinical trials, neobladder care, and CBI, with strong emphasis on infection prevention and fall safety.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care to oncology patients undergoing complex treatments.
Administer/monitor chemotherapy (ONS preferred).
Monitor telemetry, interpret/manage dysrhythmias, respond to emergency changes.
Support clinical trials and assist with required documentation.
Perform specialized procedures including brachytherapy and neobladder management.
Maintain infection control protocols and promote patient safety.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, PT, pharmacy, RRT, and social services.
Manage PCA pumps, epidurals, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and drains.
Use Epic for all charting and documentation.
