We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to take on the role of Materials Manager in our organization. This pivotal position is responsible for optimizing our supply chain operations, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and inventory control to support our business objectives and maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of new product supply chain strategies.
Oversee supplier selection, qualification, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Create and manage commodity strategies, identifying and addressing gaps in the supplier base.
Plan and manage the procurement of raw materials, supplies, and equipment.
Utilize ERP systems to streamline material purchases in alignment with business plans.
Maintain a balanced approach to inventory management, optimizing cost, availability, and working capital.
Regularly monitor inventory metrics and develop measures to achieve business objectives.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment with production schedules and goals.
Manage procurement processes for maintenance, repair, and operations components.
Leverage knowledge of markets and technologies to achieve cost savings and efficiency gains.
Work with R&D, engineering, and project management teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Human Resources to manage staff-related functions, including hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
Develop and manage budgets within approved guidelines.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment, including 5 years in a leadership role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expertise in the electronics or consumer products industry.
Proven experience in sourcing electronic and mechanical commodities.
Proficiency in material planning theories and practices.
Ability to drive sourcing and materials management functions in a fast-paced global environment.
Strong knowledge of supply management, production, and inventory control methods.
Effective leadership skills with a commitment to fostering a positive work culture.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Capacity to work independently while adhering to company policies.
Willingness to travel frequently and engage with outsourced vendors.
