Title: Assistant Professor - Adult Clinical Psychology Employee Classification: FA - Faculty 16 and 24 Pay Pay Grade: FA 01 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: Psychology Department: College of Arts and Sciences Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary The Department of Psychology at Eastern Michigan University announces an opening for a tenure-track assistant professor position with specific expertise in adult clinical psychology starting August 2026.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses and should demonstrate the ability to teach therapy, assessment, and other clinically relevant courses to a culturally diverse student body.
Candidates are also expected to mentor graduate student thesis and dissertation research and to supervise graduate students in evidence-based intervention and assessment at our on-site departmental training clinic, the Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CBHC), as part of their teaching load.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in department and university-level committees and establish a research program with student participation at all levels.
Perform related Departmental duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have their PhD in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program and must be fully licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of Michigan within one year of hire.
Candidates must demonstrate evidence of a strong, transferable research program within the area of adult clinical psychology (area of specialization is open). Preferred Qualifications: N/A Special Instructions: All applications must be made online.
