Night Shift Operator - Anaerobic Digestion Plant

You will contribute directly to sustainable energy production and environmental protection.
What you will do
Operate and monitor the AD plant independently during night shifts
Conduct regular physical checks and monitor plant performance
Communicate promptly with on-call Plant Operators and Regional Plant Manager to resolve issues
Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs
Perform minor mechanical maintenance tasks
Operate the weighbridge and maintain accurate records
Prepare routine performance reports
Demonstrate flexibility in covering annual leave and absences of colleagues
What you will bring to the role
Experienced in operational site work or broad maintenance
Familiar with computer-based monitoring systems
Comfortable with lone working and night shifts
Knowledgeable about environmental and commercial issues impacting plant operations
Holder of a full UK driving license
Skilled in operating telehandlers, tractors, or forklifts (training provided)
Proficient in IT with strong numerical, analytical, and diagnostic skills
Well-versed in health and safety regulations and compliance
Quick problem-solver with excellent decision-making abilities
Positive, proactive, and reliable team player with strong communication skills
Resilient and able to work under own initiative
Job Based In
Rainbarrow Farm, Poundbury near Dorchester. This is an on-site role involving lone working during night shifts.
This is a night based role working 48 hours per week working a shift pattern as agreed with the Regional Plant Manager (6pm to 6am) including weekends. There is also the requirement to provide holiday cover for your team when required.
