Job Description: The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at DCC invites applications for part-time faculty in Computer Information Systems and Computer Science.

The department is searching for instructors for the Spring 2026 semester to teach the following courses: CIS111 - Computer Systems and Applications CIS112 - Computer Programming I (using C#) CIS123 - Computer Programming II (using C#) CIS150 - Information Security Management CIS218 - Routing and Switching Technology CIS228 - Website Administration CPS141 - Computer Science I (using Java) CPS142 - Computer Science II (using Java) CPS231 - Data Structures (using Java) Courses are in-person at the main campus in Poughkeepsie and at DCC @ Fishkill.

Courses are offered primarily during the day, with some courses offered during the late afternoon and evening.

Part-time faculty teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department.

Requirements: Minimum Qualifications * Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems with more than 5-years of industry experience in Information Management, Networking, Systems, or Database Administration OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with more than 5-years of industry experience as a software engineer.

* Official academic transcripts required upon hire.

* Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

* Organizational skills necessary to prepare and present course content in an engaging and interactive manner.

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience teaching at the college level, particularly at a community college.

* Industry experience directly related to the content within the specific course for consideration.

* A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction.

* Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Brightspace, Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle.

Additional Information: Working Conditions * The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site.

* Flexible hours required.

* some travel will be necessary
