Adjunct Nursing Faculty - Cooperative Clinical Facilitator
Position Purpose
The NEC Model of Cooperative Nursing Education utilizes a preceptorship-based approach. The part-time Cooperative Clinical Facilitator (CCF) is an NEC nurse educator who supports and facilitates Cooperative I, II, and III cooperative clinical experiences. These experiences span 14 weeks and consist of one 12-hour clinical shift per week, conducted in partnership with various healthcare organizations, including Catholic Medical Center, Concord Hospital, Cheshire Medical Center, Elliot Hospital, Parkland Medical Center, and Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
The CCF provides real-time educational support, conducts student evaluations, and promotes a collaborative clinical learning environment. This role is ideal for nurses seeking to take their first step into nursing education or transition from a traditional clinical instructor role into a more flexible, practice-integrated teaching position.
Essential Duties Summary
Serve as the Clinical Course Facilitator (CCF) during the assigned Cooperative Nursing Education term:
COOP I - summer,
COOP II - spring, or
COOP III - fall.
Collaborate with clinical preceptors to ensure students meet course objectives and demonstrate professional, safe, and competent nursing practice.
Maintain consistent communication with students, preceptors, and course lead faculty through scheduled check-ins, site visits (as needed), and digital platforms.
Evaluate student progress using preceptor feedback, clinical documentation, reflective assignments, and other course-related assessments.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, evaluations, and clinical performance in accordance with program and institutional policies.
Uphold the academic standards, policies, and mission of New England College and the nursing program.
Required Qualifications
Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Hampshire (or eligibility for licensure).
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or active enrollment in an MSN program preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
Demonstrated understanding of clinical teaching, professional standards, and evidence-based practice.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to foster collaboration with clinical partners, preceptors, and student care teams.
Proficiency with or willingness to learn digital tools used for student tracking and communication (e.g., Blackboard, Zoom, email).
