The Operational Manager II is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Access Control, Data Management, Records Management, and Information Management within the Islamic Banking Business Unit. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the secure, efficient handling of information assets, supporting both business continuity and strategic objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Operational Implementation & Continuity: Ensure seamless execution of operational processes and business continuity for all data and information management functions
Stakeholder Support: Provide expert support to internal stakeholders, ensuring their data and information management needs are met efficiently
Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and deliver timely, accurate reports on access, data, and records management, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements
Access Controls: Oversee user access provisioning, deprovisioning, and recertification processes, ensuring robust role-based access controls and regular access reviews to maintain data security and compliance
Process Efficiency: Lead the implementation of Records Management, including inventory mapping, retention and disposition, security, and staff training. Drive improvements in data quality, accuracy, and information sharing, ensuring accessibility and adherence to policy
Regulatory & Policy Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies, including those specific to Islamic Banking
Privacy Principles Implementation: Embed privacy principles such as minimality, information quality, and processing limitation into all data and records management activities
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in information management, Business Administration, IT, or related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
5+ years’ experience in operations, data management, or records management, preferably within financial services or Islamic Banking.
Strong knowledge of access control, data governance, records management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., POPIA, PAIA).
Experience with privacy principles, consent management, and information lifecycle management.
Proven ability to manage audits, risk, and stakeholder relationships.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive process efficiency and innovation.
