Structural Bridge Project Manager – Central NJ
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of bridge and transportation-related structural projects across Central New Jersey. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who thrives in a client-facing, leadership-oriented position and wants to contribute to high-impact infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee structural design projects including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and transportation structures.
Lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring quality deliverables, schedule adherence, and budget control.
Coordinate with NJDOT, NJTA, county agencies, and municipal clients on project requirements, reviews, and approvals.
Prepare and review structural calculations, design plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates.
Conduct site visits, structural evaluations, inspections, and condition assessments.
Guide junior engineers through technical development, design tasks, and QA/QC processes.
Manage client communication, proposal development, contract negotiations, and project forecasting.
Ensure compliance with AASHTO LRFD, NJDOT standards, and applicable codes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NJ or ability to obtain quickly.
8+ years of progressive bridge/structural design experience.
Strong proficiency with structural design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, LARSA, LEAP Bridge, MDX) and MicroStation/AutoCAD.
Demonstrated experience managing transportation infrastructure projects.
Excellent communication, leadership, and client-management skills.
Preferred Experience:
Prior work with NJDOT/NJTA projects.
Experience with load ratings, accelerated bridge construction, or complex structures.
Familiarity with environmental permitting and construction-phase services.
