The Library Programmer prepares and delivers high-quality, community-centered library programming and outreach activities to connect people of all ages to new ideas, experiences and life-long learning.
• Plan, develop, and deliver dynamic, engaging programs for a diverse audience, including preschoolers, children, and teenagers.
• Adapt programming content to meet the evolving interests and needs of the community.
• Conduct outreach initiatives to strengthen the library’s presence and impact in the community.
• Support the creation of new programming and outreach initiatives based on community needs.
• Deliver exceptional front-line customer service in collaboration with the Library Services Team.

Qualifications of our ideal candidate include: College diploma or university degree in Library Science, Education, Child & Youth Work, or a related Minimum of two years of experience in community Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and use new digital tools or technologies.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver high-quality programs for diverse audiences.
Commitment to flexibility, including availability for evening and weekend programs, and the ability to work across multiple Library Significant knowledge of library programming trends including Makerspace equipment, robotics, coding and educational technologies is an asset.
