Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Unit
Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
Start Date: December 15, 2025
End Date: March 16, 2026
Duration: 13-week contract
Shift: 12-hour night shifts
Hours per Week: 36

PCU RN Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Stepdown, Intermediate Care (SDU/IMCU), or PCU nursing jobs
Proficiency with ventilators at the IMC level required
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications
Ability to pass a Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide provided)
Travel nursing experience highly preferred
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes
Administer medications and manage critical drips (Cardizem titration, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Lasix, Bumex)
Provide care for patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, high flow, HHFNC, and ventilator support
Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 during night shifts (subject to staffing changes)
Deliver care for cardiac (NSTEMI, stress tests, cardioversions, TEE), neuro, renal (HD, AKI, CRF), GI bleeds, respiratory (COPD, CHF, COVID), and other conditions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and advocate for patients
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Educate patients and families, and coordinate care across hospital departments
