PCU/Stepdown RN Job Details
Location: Youngstown, OH 44504 (Ohio nursing jobs)
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
Unit: Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown (Neuro-focused, 32 beds)
Shift: 12 Hour Nights (includes every other weekend and holiday)
Hours per Week: 36
Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 (high ratio neuro patients)
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1780–$1910
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (Ohio Registered Nurse jobs)
Minimum 1 year of RN experience; neuro nursing experience required
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required for travel nurse jobs)
Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide provided)
Ability to start by 12/15/2025
Travel nurses only (local candidates not accepted)
PCU/Stepdown RN Responsibilities
Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans
Safely administer medications according to hospital policies
Coordinate patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and families
Advocate for patient safety and participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives
Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure and multisystem trauma
Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions in a high-acuity setting
Utilize advanced clinical skills: hemodynamic monitoring, transvenous pacing, conscious sedation
Support patients and families coping with acute illness or injury
Maintain professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and clear communication at all times
