Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Branch Operations & QA service layer in Colombia ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives for CCA region. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

• Implements, maintains, and supports application releases to meet the business needs of the organizations and to scale as we grow.

• Responsible for providing specialized technical leadership in the analysis, design, development, implementation and support for fullstack environment. The incumbent is responsible for current and future implementation projects within the group, introducing new technologies to meet business objectives and providing technical consultation and guidance to all development projects.

• Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting CIAD pipelines that is delivered on time and within budget.

• Create scripts for pre and post deployment tasks.

• Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.

• Support the IT areas that need development support ensuring the testing, implementation and other IT areas have a good understanding of the solutions.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Release deployments usually happen after-hours and on weekends. Flexibility to support during those times is needed.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience

• Computer Science Diploma or Degree; or related work experience. +3 years of experience

• .Net, JAVA, Python, SOAP, Webservices, SQL

• Agile framework (Scrum, Kanban) SAFE is a plus

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.When required, non-standard office working hours for scheduled implementations or while on rotational 24x7 on-call support.
