PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

Location: Columbus, OH 43210 – prime Ohio healthcare hub

Clinical Setting: Oncology, Orthopedic, and Sarcoma Transfusion Services (18 East and West)

Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)

Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)

Weekly Hours: 36

Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse

Orientation: First week Mon-Fri dayshift; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor

Flexible Scheduling: Self-scheduling requests accommodated

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940–$1990

PCU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license required at submission

Minimum 1 year of recent high-acuity PCU nursing experience

2 years of oncology nursing experience preferred

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system

Ability to float to units of similar or lower acuity (PCU, MedSurg Oncology)

Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leader)

Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions considered)

PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to oncology and progressive care patients

Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Utilize rapid response protocols and manage cardiac drips

Administer blood products and chemotherapy (preferred skill)

Care for central, PICC, and peripheral lines

Perform feeding tube care, tracheostomy management, and wound care

Operate GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, and PCA pumps

Maintain infection prevention protocols and ensure patient fall safety

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy

Float to other PCU or MedSurg Oncology units as needed
