Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

Location: Elizabethtown, KY (42701) – Kentucky travel nursing jobs

Unit: Medical-Surgical Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Start Date: December 15, 2025

End Date: March 16, 2026

Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 - 07:00)

Hours per Week: 36

Employment Type: Travel RN contract

Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5 (nights)

Charting System: Epic

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or compact state

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

NIH Stroke Scale certification (prior to assignment)

Previous travel nursing experience required

Proficiency with Epic electronic health records (EHR)

Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Peripheral and central line care/management skills

Blood product administration competency

COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Two recent professional nursing references

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical and post-surgical diagnoses

Monitor and manage telemetry patients, including dysrhythmia interpretation and intervention

Administer medications, manage IV drips, and perform blood product administration

Provide peripheral and central line care, wound care, and adhere to isolation precautions

Document patient care using Epic EHR system

Initiate rapid response protocols as needed

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Social Services, etc.)

Float to other nursing units as required

Complete orientation and required training modules
