We are currently seeking a Sewing Repair Technician. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screen. We offer competitive pay and excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, short term disability, and life insurance for full-time employees.
Combine multiple skillsets to comprehensively repair, overhaul, and upgrade heavy-duty industrial sewing machines.
This isn't just parts swapping as these machines aren't all the same and will usually require modifications to ensure proper function. They require fine tuning to perform to customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Complete full repair or overhaul process of customers' sewing machines
Clean and strip machines for full inspection
Evaluate condition of parts
Use parts diagrams and schematics
Keep detailed record of parts used and repairs made
Use computer to update Repair Work Orders
Assemble and test new sewing machines
Set up machine according to customers' request or preference
Inspect machine for any adjustments or repairs needed
Test machine with customers' thread type and stitch length
Cut and assemble wooden crate for safe freight travel
Fill customer parts orders
Use computer to view orders for parts
Use mobile phone or scanner to access order and apply parts to the order
Bag, tag, package, and weigh order
Apply shipping label and place in outgoing shipment stack
Receive and stow new parts for inventory
Count parts to ensure packing list is correct
Use computer to find bin locations
Place parts in designated bins
Mark overflow and place in correct areas
Use document scanner to send packing list
Clean and Organize
Parts
Tools
Supplies
Keep basic inventory of consumable items
Rags, Tool Bits, Shipping supplies, etc.
Inform purchasing or management when to order more
Qualifications
Ability to stay on task, without direct supervision
High proficiency with hand tools and power tools
Excellent Mechanical Aptitude
High-level Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
Basic computer skills
Basic electrical knowledge
Ability to lift heavy objects, stand, sit, or squat for extended periods
Metal fabrication experience preferred
Wood fabrication experience preferred
