Registered Nurse Job Details

Location: Petoskey, MI 49770 (Northern Michigan healthcare jobs)

Healthcare Setting: 2 North Medical Surgical Unit (28 beds)

Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)

Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week

Schedule: Every other weekend required

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1610–$1730 per week

Employment Type: Travel RN Contract

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan (LARA and Nursys verification required)

BLS certification (AHA) – required for all Michigan RN jobs

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience

Travel nursing experience highly preferred

Completion of a skills checklist for RN specialties within one year of application

Strong attendance record and ability to adhere to attendance policy

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans

Deliver patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care focused on safety and positive outcomes

Provide clinical support for surgical, trauma, and stroke patients in a medical surgical setting

Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork with healthcare colleagues and patients

Participate in unit-based councils and shared governance to promote a healthy work environment

Maintain high standards of time management and productivity in a busy hospital unit

Engage in ongoing professional development and learning opportunities

Perform additional RN duties as assigned in accordance with hospital and unit policies
