Responsibilities:
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing and managing the accident prevention program and the laws that relate to the safety of our employees. This position will also focus on software and document management.
Directs and administers specific functions of the Accident Prevention Program at the company or project level
Develop and facilitate appropriate, relevant and dynamic training
Develop and communicate useful data analytics to drive safety performance and program excellence
Ability to oversee multiple projects
Promotes the company safety culture between clients, co-workers and subcontractors;
Supports all Safety Committee Initiatives on site
Conducts work area assessments
Participate in job related injuries, illnesses and property damage claims and recommend remedial action as needed
Maintains industry awareness
Ensure proper documentation has been prepared and maintained on asset loss and workers compensation claims
Promotes and displays company values
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field from an accredited institution or 5 years' experience.
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certifications preferred.
Knowledge of regulations and standards and hazard recognition injury management skills, and written and verbal communication skills as they pertain to the building construction industry such as OSHA, USACE, USCG, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, TCEQ, State and Local rules
OSHA 500 or 502 preferred
Good Computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products
Excellent understanding of Pre-Task Planning
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Have training and knowledge of Traffic Control, Rigging, Crane Basics, Confined Space, Lockout Tagout and Concrete plant basics
Team player with a professional image, capable of handling highly confidential information
Presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment that may require long hours, including nights and weekends
Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
Experience working on USACE projects preferred
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud and may require protective equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, grasp or crawl. The employee is required to frequently climb ladders/work at heights and balance/walk on uneven terrain, lift up to 10 pounds, sit/stand for sustained periods of time (up to 12 hours/day), and speak/hear.
