What we are looking for
Iberdrola is looking for a Grid Specialist in Italy
The main activities of Grid Connection Team are:
Development and Construction of Renewable Energy Plants, following the Grid Process from the initial stage to the final phase of energization (STMG, PTO, STMD, GAUDI, EON, ION, FON Dogane process or E distribuzione in case of MT plant)
Technical grid due diligence for new projects submitted with feasibility analysis
Technical grid due diligence for authorized projects
Relations with all the stakeholders involved in the first origination phase (including Terna TT) and on the second permitting phase until the construction
Strong Relation with TSO and DSO
Development and Construction of Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
The candidate will be part of Grid Connection Department, he/she shall:
Support IBERDROLA for the definition of the Grid Connection solutions performing a technical assessment
Support the pipeline growth evaluating the Grid constraints/Grid connection opportunities
Follow up of the regulatory in order to define the most suitable grid connection solutions
Analyze the integrated text of the technical and economic conditions for connection to electrical grids (TICA), the Italian Grid Code and any other applicable standard or technical regulation (CEI, Enel, ARERA, etc.) to assess the projects for the correct and effective development, construction, grid connection and operation of the plants.
Analyze and follow up the electrical infrastructure development plan of the Italian grid.
Liaise with the relevant stakeholders like Terna, Enel and any other DSO during the permit requests and the energization phase
Analyze STMG, STMD and any grid technical study taking part, if necessary, to the TSO technical table during the engineering and permitting phase of the interconnection infrastructures.
Support CAPEX and Contract Manager for the definition of project requirements
Maintain technical and commercial relationships with TSO and DSO with the aim of optimizing Iberdrola's projects during the development phase and providing any support needed during the whole construction phase up to the COD.
Supervise specific activities conducted by providers that may affect the final connection of projects under construction.
Support the implementation of new trends, from a connection perspective, like batteries, hybrid solutions, etc. that could be considered for the pipeline.
Lead electrical Due Diligence processes, coordinating external consultants and internal support teams.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
The candidate will oversee the following activities:
Define and supervise the Grid Connection Solutions for Self-Consumption, BESS and Utility Scale Projects Liaise with the relevant stakeholders like Terna, Enel and any other DSO during the permit requests. Follow up of the regulatory framework for Self-Consumption, BESS and Utility Scale Projects in order to define the most suitable grid connection solutions Support CAPEX and Contract Manager for the definition of project requirements
EDUCATION:
Electrical Engineering (specialty in Energy) or equivalent University Degree.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
At least 4 years’ experience in a similar position.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL SKILLS / SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive knowledge of the electrical connection solutions
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering (power systems, electrical installations)
Outstanding ability to solve problems and a strong focus on achieving results
Knowledge of the Italian regulatory framework and permits processes of Grid connection also for Self-Consumption systems (SDC, Direct line connections, Energy Communities)
Direct contribution to the growth objectives for capacity and economic results of the Renewables Division, set by the Strategic Plan and the Business analysis.
The position comprehends the search for business Opportunities considering the policies, Process and methodology of the Group.
Very high affection. Role highly linked to the company’s growth strategy.
Knowledge in construction of wind farms and solar plants is a plus.
Advanced user in MS Office.
LANGUAGES:
Italian (native).
English (professional skills).
Spanish is a plus.
