We are a well-established and growing construction company seeking an experienced Controller / Office Manager / Bookkeeper to manage our financial operations and oversee office administration. This is a critical role for a proactive professional with strong construction accounting experience who can bring structure, accuracy, and leadership to our internal processes. Position Overview
This role combines high-level financial
management with hands-on bookkeeping and office operations. You will work closely with ownership and project management to ensure financial accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, payroll, general ledger
• Manage job costing and construction-specific financial reporting
• Prepare monthly financial statements and year-end reports
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Ensure accurate vendor and subcontractor payments
• Maintain compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
• Support project managers with real-time financial data
• Implement and improve internal accounting procedures
• Manage daily office operations and administrative functions
Required Qualifications:
• 3–5+ years experience in construction accounting or similar field
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, GAAP, and financial controls
• Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
• Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with job costing software
• Knowledge of lien waivers and subcontractor compliance
• Payroll processing in construction environments
