Maintenance Technician (Nights)

Job Summary

Join Aztalan Bio as a Night Shift Maintenance Technician and help support a growing, innovative biorefinery in Jefferson, WI. This full-time role offers a Mon-Thurs schedule (8:30pm-7:00am), competitive pay of $28-$35/hr + $2/hr shift premium, and a strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, sick time, and more. Position Overview

Aztalan Bio is seeking a dependable Night Shift Maintenance Technician to support plant operations four nights per week. Training will take place on first shift for up to three months before transitioning to the Monday-Thursday night schedule.

In this role, you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative and planned maintenance; communicate findings to Production and Maintenance teams.

Diagnose and repair mechanical failures while following all EHS standards.

Complete ad-hoc mechanical tasks as assigned by Maintenance or Production leadership.

Maintain and repair plant equipment, including pumps, conveyors, heat exchangers, grain-processing equipment, valves, fans, blowers, compressors, agitators, and vehicles.

Make equipment adjustments, alignments, lubrication, and vibration analysis as needed.

Record all maintenance activities in the appropriate system.

Inspect equipment, document deficiencies, and escalate concerns.

Maintain a clean, safe work environment and train operators on basic maintenance tasks.

Participate in planned shutdowns and collaborate with other departments.

Participate in a weekly on-call rotation to support urgent maintenance needs.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical or food manufacturing preferred).

Welding/fabrication experience (certification preferred).

Experience with pumps, conveyors, valves, and rotating equipment.

Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints.

Strong safety awareness, mechanical aptitude, and teamwork.

Dependable, adaptable, and detail-oriented.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Exposure to industrial noise, moving equipment, and occasional chemicals.

Required PPE: safety glasses, steel-toed boots, FR clothing, hearing protection.

Regular walking, stair climbing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs (50 lbs occasionally).

Work may involve variable indoor/outdoor temperatures.
