Role Summary
Location: Portage, MI
Shift: 2nd Shift
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting the facility by conducting preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure smooth operations in the manufacturing and rebuild areas.
Main Tasks
Perform major mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment
Work effectively in both team settings and independently
Adhere to departmental procedures and quality systems
Utilize maintenance software and computer-based tools
Apply troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve issues
Plan and schedule tasks to ensure timely completion of assigned work
Rebuild and refurbish equipment parts and sub-assemblies
Your Profile
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Proven experience in mechanical repair with electrical knowledge, or as an electrician with strong mechanical skills
Industrial manufacturing experience
Familiarity with shop tools and automated equipment at all levels
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Completion of an apprenticeship program with a journeyman's card
8 years of experience in a specialized or multi-craft role
Experience with plastic injection molding is a plus
