Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following: Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties: * Serves as charge nurse and assumes responsibility for staffing and/or care of patients within a unit.

* Assists in maintaining patient care standards by supervising and directing activities of subordinate nurses engaged in quality assurance, infection control, and utilization review activities.

* Receives physicians' instructions regarding patient care and ensures that orders are transmitted to other units as needed.

* Makes regular patient rounds to observe and assess patients' physical conditions and behaviors, evaluates the quality of care provided, and ensures proper documentation of treatment and nursing observations.

* Reviews nursing plan of care for all patients within a unit and ensures that treatments and therapies specified in the plans are carried out.

Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational Compensation: This position offers a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $33.91 per hour, plus $4.00 per hour in Premium Pay for hours physically worked.

It also qualifies for shift differential pay, with rates varying based on shift, day, and holiday schedules.

Note regarding the advertised pay range: The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career, and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
