This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day 12 hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, preventing illness and injury while alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN serves as an advocate for individuals and families and is accountable for complying with standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and United Health Services policies.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.

Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.

Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and administer medications safely.

Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization.

Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

Support the Nursing Shared Governance Model and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.

Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing (RN) experience.

Current New York State RN License.

BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
