As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking Service Product team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Works at code-level using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API, and React (50% coding)
Manage 5-6 Software Engineers at varying levels within an Agile environment
Lead a talented group of engineers who are passionate about building next-generation solutions.
Leverage cloud-native technologies, generative AI-driven defensive coding, and modern DevOps methodologies
Drive transformation and excellence in software delivery
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
Experience leading technology projects
Experience managing technologists while working at code level in Java, SpringBoot, RESTful API implementation and micro-services architecture
Experience in front-end development, debugging, and maintaining code in a large environment with UI Frameworks such as Reacts JS or Bootstrap
Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies (ECS, RDS, S3, etc.), Kafka, GraphQL
Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience working at code level
Successful experience managing and leading scrum teams
Experience in a very large Banking or Financial Services technology environment
