American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring OH or compact RN license, advanced cardiac skills, and Epic experience.
Job Details
• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU unit in a hospital setting,
• Patient population consists of critically ill cardiac patients with estimated nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2,
• Duties include IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz catheter use, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and pulmonary artery lines,
• Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required,
• 36-hour work week with 12-hour day (7:00A-7:30P) or night (7:00P-7:30A) shifts,
• Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period,
• Rotating holiday coverage required,
• Must float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed,
• No on-call responsibility,
Job Requirements
• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration,
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required,
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program is required,
• Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Advanced cardiac skills including IV start, telemetry, vents, Swan-Ganz, sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines,
• Previous travel experience preferred,
• Two professional references required; at least one must be from a formal leader such as a manager or supervisor,
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include advanced monitoring, cardiac procedures, and critical care for cardiovascular patients,
• Must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting requirements prior to start,
• Former employees are eligible if they have been separated from any Ohio State University hospital for 6 months or more,
• Current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible for travel positions,
• Time-off requests must be submitted during initial application,
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers,
• Must be prepared for rotation among units, but CVICU travelers will not be rotated more than once every 4 weeks,
