The Tony-award winning UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, a professional theater company in residence at Southern Utah University, is accepting applications for Production Staff for the 2026 season.
The Utah Shakespeare Festival produces an eight-show repertory season and three Green Shows across three venues in the summer/fall of each year.

Supporting the Lighting Department is the core function of the following positions, which ensures seamless operation of lighting equipment for all productions including installation and performance runs.
* Lighting Crew Lead: Contracts begin at the middle of April and run through early July.
* Light Board Operator: Contracts begin late May or late June and end mid-October.
* Lighting Technician: Contracts begin late April and run through late June with some positions extending as late as mid-July.
Date of first consideration: 12/03/2025 Lighting Crew Lead: * The Lighting Crew Lead is responsible for managing the venue lighting team, and installing systems and equipment for each production.
* The individual is responsible for supporting the Lighting Designer in carrying out the production, and for providing lighting support for all productions in the assigned venue(s). * The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with proven experience in professional theatre who displays a great deal of creativeness in problem solving and troubleshooting.
Light Board Operator: * Responsible for assisting the Lighting Crew Lead and the Lighting Designer in the recording and adjustment of lighting cues and for executing lighting cues during tech rehearsals and performances.
* Create and update a pre-show and post-show lighting checklist.
* Perform a channel check before each performance and fix any problems encountered.
* Maintain lighting designs throughout production runs, per production reports, making any pertinent changes with the help of the Associate Electrics Director.
* Strike and restore lighting equipment following the close of every production.
* Attend all tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals, performances, and strike at assigned call times.
* Operates lighting console and Qlab show control during rehearsals and performances Lighting Technician: * Responsible for the reading light plots, channel hookups, instrument schedules.
* Perform troubleshooting and testing of installation.
* Safely hang, circuit and data using appropriate cable management, address and focus lighting plots.
* Install lighting practicals; setup of run lights, atmospheric effects, Prepare for technical rehearsals; load-in tech tables, power systems, and task lighting Lighting Crew Lead: Qualifications * Supervisory experience desired.
* Working knowledge of LED, moving lights, EOS family, DMX over Ethernet, Basic experience with Vectorworks and Lightwright 6 Software.
* Able to read and understand standard lighting design documents including lighting plots, lighting sections, channel hookups, instrument schedules, color swatches and gobo specifications.
* Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds routinely, 60 pounds occasionally; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding; safely manage work in various situations including; uneven surfaces, floor openings, heights, construction debris and poor lighting.
* OSC experience is preferred.
Light Board Operator: Qualifications * Working knowledge of LED, moving lights, EOS family and DMX over Ethernet.
* Basic experience with electricity, soldering and circuitry.
* Ability to work independently.
* Able to read and understand standard lighting design documents including lighting plots, lighting sections, channel hookups, instrument schedules.
* Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds routinely, 60 pounds occasionally; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding; safely manage work in various situations including; uneven surfaces, floor openings, heights, construction debris and poor lighting.
* OSC and audio experience is preferred.
Lighting Technician: Qualifications * Working knowledge of a variety of lighting fixtures, including conventional, LED, and moving lights, control protocols such as DMX over Ethernet as well as the EOS family syntax.
* Familiar with electrical wiring and safety procedures related to theatrical lighting experience with electricity, soldering and circuitry.
* Ability to work independently.
* Able to read and understand standard lighting design documents including lighting plots, lighting sections, channel hookups, instrument schedules.
* Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds routinely, 60 pounds occasionally; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding; safely manage work in various situations including; uneven surfaces, floor openings, heights, construction debris and poor lighting.
