Oracle Health Data Intelligence Principal Software Engineer

Oracle Health Data Intelligence (HDI) is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join a team that is developing a new integration point between HDI and other partner systems. Our application is being built with the latest technologies and capabilities of Oracle. Through our application we help health systems to improve patient engagement, health outcomes, and provide care coordination and personalized healthcare outreach. We also seek to maintain operational excellence for our existing systems and integrations.

Responsibilities

You will apply intermediate to advanced knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, and designing software applications according to provided product design specifications. You will help to architect new systems, implement features, and work to build a robust, scalable modern application. Our work involves problem solving, strong communication skills with other teams, an ability to do independent research to understand other HDI systems and capabilities, and applying company policies and processes.

Write code in Java (Micronaut framework), Scala (Apache Spark), Ruby and others

Write modularized, maintainable software

Implement of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations

Setup and maintain our projects using DevOps technologies such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, Maven, etc.

Ensure back-end systems integrate appropriately with front-end UIs

Build micro-service architectures and RESTful APIs

Build and maintain large scalable enterprise applications, distributed systems, and cloud-based platforms

Design relational database schemas, write and optimize SQL queries

Communicate solidly in written and oral contexts, to both technical and non-technical audiences

Build cloud services on OCI infrastructure using knowledge of public cloud SaaS, PaaS services and/or related technology experience

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science, or equivalent. 8+ years of technical experience relevant to this position. Proficient in Java; familiarity with Scala and Ruby on Rails is helpful. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with teams across our organization. Experience working with technical partners to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable technical requirements and per-component designs. Experience working on distributed systems hosted by a cloud service provider. Experience working with relational databases including designing schemas, writing queries, and optimizing performance. Experience building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols. Experience performing big data processing, particularly batch and streaming.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
