Six months of experience or training in patient care; OR Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate; OR Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician Program.

NOTE: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.

Job Duties: * Observes patients condition and reports any changes to charge nurse.

* Transports patients to examinations, clinics, or recreational sites.

* Distributes clean linen, washes, dries, sorts, folds, and stores patients clothing.

* May be required to provide care to patients with infectious diseases.

Position-Specific Details: This position is located in the Nursing Department of the LA Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana.

Appointment Type: Full-Time Position Probational Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Nursing Assistant 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience Work Schedule: Work hours are 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM / 6:00PM to 6:30AM.

Alternant weekends.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.(CNA 1 Special Entrance Rate) $13.74 & (CNA 2 Special Entrance Rate) $14.70 hourly (base pay), plus shifts differentials and premium pay of $3.00 per hour worked.
