Description
The Cook at Plum Market Food Service – Columbus Airport is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and a commitment to food safety standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a team-oriented setting and takes pride in delivering an exceptional culinary experience for travelers and guests alike.
Who You Are
You have at least 1 year of experience in a kitchen or food preparation role.
You are dependable, organized, and able to multitask in a high-volume environment.
You have knowledge of cooking techniques, proper food handling, and sanitation procedures.
You can follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation expectations consistently.
You work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with others.
You are flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Prior experience in airport or travel-related food service is a plus.
ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred.
What You Will Do
Prepare menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure all food is made with attention to quality, freshness, and safety.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area throughout each shift.
Follow all health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with both back-of-house and front-of-house teams to meet service goals.
Restock and rotate ingredients and supplies as needed.
Report any maintenance or food supply concerns to your Supervisor promptly.
Assist with daily opening and closing kitchen duties.
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
Work in varying temperatures.
Morning shifts.
