Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Customer Service Representative to join our team in Westerville, Ohio. In this contract position, you will serve as a vital link between patients and the organization by addressing billing concerns, resolving account issues, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centric approach to handling inquiries and transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the resolution of patient account balances with a focus on delivering a positive and supportive experience.

• Accurately calculate and collect payments from patients while adhering to established guidelines.

• Maintain accuracy and efficiency in processing patient accounts and related transactions.

• Set up payment plans using the online bill pay system in accordance with approved policies.

• Investigate and resolve claims-related issues in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with the scheduling department to identify in-network insurance contracts and reimbursement policies.

• Research and address accounts receivable concerns based on direction and requirements.

• Update insurance information and correct guarantor details in cases of registration errors.

• Submit refund requests as needed.

• Work with team members and leadership to improve workflows and enhance overall service quality.• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.

• Proficiency in call center operations and patient interaction.

• Familiarity with basic medical terminology and CPT codes.

• Experience with patient billing and accounts receivable processes.

• Ability to manage inbound customer inquiries effectively and professionally.

• Strong problem-solving skills to assist customers with account-related issues.

• Knowledge of medical billing practices and insurance policies.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to diffuse negative situations and maintain professionalism.
