McLean School (mcleanschool.org), a K-12 co-educational independent school in Potomac, Maryland, seeks applicants for a Shot Clock Operator for the Winter 2025-2026 season, which runs from December through February.

The Shot Clock Operator plays an important role in ensuring smooth gameday operations for our Varsity Boys & Girls Basketball teams, while serving as a positive role model and supporting the School's Mission and Core Values.
This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics, Coaching, and Mentoring.
Essential Duties
Be a positive role model
Operate the Shot Clock accurately throughout all home Varsity Basketball games.
Coordinate with the scorekeeper and game officials to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Reset the shot clock according to high school basketball rules.
Arrive 30 minutes prior to game time to set up and test equipment.
Maintain focus, professionalism, and attention to detail throughout the game.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and ability to remain composed under pressure.
Familiarity with basketball rules and timing (experience as a player, coach, or official a plus).
Reliable, punctual, and available for evening home games (typically 5:00-7:30 pm).
Training will be provided for individuals new to the Shot clock operation process.
