Objective

The Lean Engineer will play a key role in the development, practice, and sustaining of Lean Disciplines and Core Tools in the organization, such as the AXIS Shopfloor Management System, Organizational Change Management, Project Management, 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and Visual Management Systems to improve organizational performance, reduce waste, and make operations more efficient. This role will drive and support cross-functional teams in problem solving and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

Lead and help implement the lean core tools and methods across the plant, including the AXIS Shopfloor Management System. Act as change agent for continuous improvement initiatives including development and delivery of lean training materials and programs

Apply change management principles (ref. Prosci ADKAR) to increase adoption of and minimize resistance to ongoing projects

Facilitate and lead teams in continuous improvement events and problem-solving with a focus on finding root cause and delivering solutions that permanently reduce variance

Perform data analysis and provide written reports that make problems and opportunities visible, and document / monitor progress on Projects and Initiatives.

Work together with Industrial Engineering to analyze lines for constraints and bottlenecks to achieve continuous flow

Collaborate with different departments on special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred; Associates degree required

2+ years relevant experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience in Lean Methodologies and Continuous Improvement (e.g. Six Sigma)

Training in Change Management (e.g. Prosci ADKAR), Project Management preferred
