Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment with a focus on oncology care and continuous cardiac monitoring.
Responsibilities
Work on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a primary oncology patient population
Patients require continuous cardiac monitoring, chemotherapy administration, and comorbidity management
Use of B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
Staff-to-patient ratio is 1:4
Required to float to units of similar or lower acuity
Shifts available are 12-hour days (7:00–19:30) and 12-hour nights (19:00–7:30)
EPIC charting system experience required
Responsibilities include symptom management, infection prevention, and fall prevention
Strong protocols in place for infection control and patient fall safety
High-acuity setting with a focus on symptom management secondary to oncology treatment
First-time travelers will be considered
Locals are accepted at the same rate
Former employees may be considered if separated from employment for 6 months or more
Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for this travel role
All RTO must be submitted and built into the contract
Requirements
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
Minimum 2 years RN experience required
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required
Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
Proficiency in interpretation of dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Experience with blood product administration, port and central line access, arterial and PICC line management, IV starts, and assistance with chest tube procedures
EPIC EMR experience required
Previous travel experience preferred
Two professional references required, including one from a manager, director, or charge RN
