Respiratory Therapist (RT)
Position Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist plays a key role in delivering pulmonary diagnostic services within Alfa-Scan. This position involves conducting, interpreting, and overseeing pulmonary function testing while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role requires ongoing communication with the Respirologist and close collaboration with the clinic team to maintain high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and/or supervise pulmonary function testing including:
Spirometry
DLCO (Diffusing Capacity of the Lung for Carbon Monoxide)
Plethysmography
Interpret test results and provide reports to physicians for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes.
Assess patients respiratory health and provide education on respiratory function and testing procedures.
Ensure equipment calibration, maintenance, and adherence to quality assurance standards.
Uphold infection prevention and control practices in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain detailed patient records, testing documentation, and procedural logs.
Contribute to ongoing clinical improvements and compliance with best practice standards.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution.
Current license/certification as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or jurisdictional equivalent).
Demonstrated experience in performing and interpreting pulmonary function testing (spirometry, DLCO, plethysmography).
Strong clinical judgment, technical competence, and understanding of diagnostic testing protocols.
Excellent communication, patient care, and organizational skills.
Ability to supervise and mentor technical staff.

Compensation details: 35-48 Hourly Wage
